Looe is een traditionele vissersplaats met schitterend uitzicht en een zandstrand. Looe trekt elk jaar vele bezoekers die jarenlang, soms generatielang, terugkomen. In de levendige en drukke haven kunt u de vissers hun vangst zien sorteren. U kunt ook zelf gaan vissen of iets anders ondernemen, zoals zeilen, windsurfen, krabben vangen of een wandeltocht maken via het coastal footpath naar andere vissersplaatsen of dorpen aan de kust. Een speedboot, een mini-cruise langs de kust, een georganiseerde visvangst met een vissersboot, het kan allemaal. Niet ver uit de kust van Hannafore, Looe, ligt George’s Island, een bijzonder eiland met mooie vogels. En met een beetje geluk, ziet u op rotsen in de buurt zeehonden zonnen.
Polperro ligt op 5 minuten afstand per auto van Looe. Polperro heeft een eigen karakter, ongewone en ouderwetse schilderachtigheid gecombineerd met de levendigheid en drukte van een werkende vissershaven. U vindt er cafeetjes, restaurants en interessante souvenirwinkeltjes. Looe en Polperro liggen via het coastal footpath op loopafstand van elkaar. De niet zo kiene wandelaar kan de terugtocht per boot maken. En hoe u de tocht ook maakt, er is altijd volop natuurschoon te zien en te bewonderen.
Oud of jong, een relaxing weekendje weg voor twee of er even tussenuit als gezin om de omgeving verkennen, Looe en Polperro vormen vanwege de centrale ligging een ideale basis voor uitstapjes naar andere schilderachtige kustplaatsen of interessante plaatsen. Het Eden Project ligt met de auto op 40 minuten afstand, Plymouth is 30 minuten rijden en Truro een goed uur.

Looe is a traditional Cornish fishing port with its breathtaking views and sandy beach. It has attracted visitors from far and wide for many generations. It is a bustling working fishing port where you can watch our fisherman sort their catch, or even try a spot of fishing yourselves. There are many things to do including crabbing, sailing, windsurfing, not to mention walking along our breathtaking coastline to many neighbouring coastal towns and villages. Why not try a speed boat ride, coastal cruise or even an organised fishing trip? St. George’s Island is a magical place just off of Hannafore in Looe where beautiful birds flock and if you are lucky you may see some seals taking in the sun on the rocks surrounding it.
Polperro is a 5 minute drive from Looe and yet offers a feel of tranquility and quaintness, yet at the same time oozes charm and character with its own working fishing harbour, many pubs, restaurants and gift shops. It’s easy to take in both Looe and Polperro as you can walk the coastal path from one to the other; for the not so avid walker, you may wish to take a boat trip for the return journey! Either way, our beautiful coastal scenery must be explored and admired.
Looe and Polperro are ideal bases to discover other coastal resorts as their central location means you are ideally situated to take a trip out and visit our many places of interest. The Eden Project lies within a 40 minute drive, the City of Plymouth just 30 minutes drive and our Cornish City of Truro just over an hour drive.
