Melin Cottage is a stunning and immaculately presented 2 bed cottage set within 13 acres of idyllic Cornish countryside within a valley at the end of a long country lane.The only sounds to be heard are the babbling brooks and bird life, providing a real "get away from it all". The Cottage once formed part of a working Mill and was lived in by the workers and is set within a courtyard of three similar cottages within a pretty courtyard. The owners live on site to provide any helpful information, whilst remaining private in their own cottage allowing everyone their own space and privacy to enjoy their holiday. Melin Cottage boasts fantastic fully refurbished accommodation, tastefully and modern throughout yet retaining many original features, exposed stone and lovely thick stone walls. On entry to the cottage you will find a superb newly fitted kitchen with all usual extras, fabulous lounge with wood burner, comfortable seating and views out over the countryside. On this floor there is a family bathroom with bath and electric shower over. Upstairs there is are 2 good size bedrooms - a double bedroom and another bedroom with bunks and a single bed within, both with super countryside views over the rolling fields. Wonderful separate self contained lawned garden plus just to the front fabulous patio with garden furniture - ideal for barbecues. Plenty of on site parking. SATURDAY TO SATURDAY CHANGEOVER. Location Nestled quietly down a farm lane just 4 miles from the fishing town of Looe and Polperro and within a 5 minute walk to the pretty village of Pelynt, this traditional stone built cottage lies within 13 acres of magnificent rural countryside. As well as your own gardens, you are invited to roam around the many acres of land surrounding the property, but more importantly the start of a fabulous dog friendly walk to Polperro starts directly from the cottage, where you can pass through acres of magnificent farmland, passing streams and for the avid photographer you are simply in heaven. This walk takes around an hour. For those who enjoy art, reading a book or just sitting out and about to enjoy some relaxation, the Cottage is the ideal cottage to do this. Many returning guests have said their batteries are completely recharged by the end of their stay, and when you arrive and see the location for yourself, you see why. The Eden Project is about 25 mins drive, city of Plymouth 40 mins drive, city of Truro around an hour drive. 25 mins drive to Bodmin Moor where you will learn about our mining heritage. Looe is a bustling fishing town with much to see and do including with its long sandy beach and working fishing harbour, boasting speed boat rides coastal cruise, glass bottom boat trip or fishing trips where you can keep your catch. There are lots of fantastic places to eat in Looe: cafes, bistros, fine restaurants and of course lots of pubs offering fine ales and good home cooked food. Polperro likewise, but a much smaller and quaint version, still with its working fishing harbour and small beach. Melin Cottage is ideally located as a short drive to the end of the lane will mean you are on the main road which leads you to many places of interest in either direction. Porfell Animal Park is about 10 mins drive away, a beautiful cove called Talland is about 5 mins drive and Lansallos Beach (another breathtaking bit of coastline) is about 10 mins drive away. Mill Cottage is ideal for families or couples wanting a tranquil and relaxing base, whilst remaining conveniently close to all the amenities and places of interest on offer. Pelynt itself has a lovely pub/restaurant - The Jubilee Inn, another restaurant - The Social Club, two good well stocked local shops, tea rooms and Post Office.
Nearest Pub/Restaurant Within a minute drive or 5 minute walk you will be in Pelynt where you will find the locally renowned Jubilee Inn and the Social Club welcoming non members to sign in for £1.00 and offers Sky Sports. Within a 5 minute drive you will be in the fishing town of Looe where there are many pubs and restaurants to choose from, and fishing village of Polperro where again there are well acclaimed restaurants and pubs.

Additional Features Short breaks out of season. Min 3 night stay. For the animal lovers you may be interested in the resident cat, dog, horses and chickens!!

Outside There is a wonderful lawned garden area just across from the cottage and a fabulous patio area directly outside with bar-be-cue area. Guest to bring their own disposable barbecues. Garden furniture. Lovely babbling brooks flow around the grounds plus there are 2 ponds.
Children Children welcome. Travel cot and high chair available upon request.
Pets Small pets welcome and charged at £25.00 per pet per week. Pets to be kept downstairs.
Smoking Policy Smoking not permitted in the cottage, however there is ample area outside to smoke.
Linen Linen and towels provided. T towels provided.
Additional Information There are no key/coin meters at the property, therefore all utilities fall within the rental tariff. Please note that pets to be kept on a lead at all times when roaming on the land or on the coastal walk as there may be roaming cattle.
