| Location | Conveniently located just off the harbour on the level this cottage is definitely in a very sought after location, especially as the lovely olde world pub The Jolly Sailor and convenience store Spar are a few yards away alongwith lovely West Looe Stores (housing many home made and locally sourced products. The cottage enviably sits a few yards off the harbour yet within the hub on the quieter conservation area of west Looe side. Within a few seconds walk you are at the harbour where you can take a boat taxi (tide permitting) across to East Looe or you can walk 5-6 mins around to the east side where you will find many pubs and locally renowned restaurants, long sandy beach, famous Banjo Pier amongst a good selection of art galleries and gift shops. 15 mins walk will see you at Hannafore where you will find another beach with sandy pockets and many rock pooling areas, not to mention views across to the fabulous St. George's Island. It's at Hannafore that one can play tennis, pitch and putt, or take a fantastic coastal walk across the fields and mile upon mile of wonderful coastline. You may choose to walk to Talland Bay, or to another fishing village neighbour Polperro where you will find a quaint and wonderful village again steeped in true smuggling history with its colourful fishing harbour (still worked by fishermen), many pubs with fine ales and well acclaimed restaurants, not to mention gift and art shops. There is much to see and do from your fabulous base and for those wanting to discover more Cornish delights, you may wish to visit the bustling city of Plymouth (40 mins drive), vibrant Cornish city of Truro (1 hour 15 mins drive), The Eden Project (40 mins drive) or Bodmin Moor (30 mins drive). Also for the beach lovers, there are miles of endless coastline in either direction. |
