Talland Bay
Talland bay provides an excellent range of unspoiled attractions along the coastline of Cornwall. The public facilities include a beach shop and two cafés, and parking is usually adequate although fairly limited to a small car park by Rottendam cottage and the beach shop car park.
There are several beaches in Talland Bay, but the largest one by the beach café is the most family-friendly and has sand at high and low tides. At low tide, there are beautiful rock pools to be discovered containing all kinds of shellfish and sea life. Swimming in the sea at high tide is easiest in the main beach.
Boats of all sizes can be launched from the ramp on the main beach, and small boats can also be launched on the smaller beach by Rotterdam cottage.
There is also a cliff path which affords superb views of the sea. It is part of the Cornwall coast path. Walks can be taken east to Looe (roughly 3 miles) or west to Polperro (1.5 miles). Sensible walking shoes or boots are advised for the walk.
