Looe Monkey sanctuary

Looe Monkey Sanctuary is located near to the beautiful harbour town of Looe.

This sanctuary is home to a large colony of woolly monkeys. Looe Monkey sanctuary was founded by Leonard Williams in 1964 with the aim of providing a natural setting in which woolly monkeys can live.

As well as the monkeys the monkey sanctuary is also home to a group a rare horseshoe bats which live in the cellar of 'Murrayton House'. The bats can be viewed via special Bat CCTV cameras which have been positioned in the cellar of the house

Murrayton House is a historic grade II listed house and was built in 1854.

The monkey sanctuary also has  a large outdoor children's play area, an indoor activity room and gift shop. You can get food from the  Tree Top café which specialises in vegetarian cooking.
