Gardens Of Cornwall

Many visitors to Cornwall are drawn back to the county time and time again by the lure of the duchys' beautiful gardens.  The lush green fields, open moorland and mild climate have encouraged gardening in Cornwall for generations.  Since the 17th century on estates such as Heligan, Cornish families have been developing and maintaining unique gardens, establishing a tradition of horticulture which is seldom seen eslewhere on the British Isles.  The relatively mild climate in this, the far west region of the country has seen seedlings from tropical jungle climates thrive on our western shores.  There are main great gardens to visit during your holiday from the outrageously natural beauty of St. Michael's Mount, the Lost but now rediscovered Gardens of Heligan which attracts thousands of visitors each year to the magnificent Trevarno and the National Museum of Gardening covering a spectacular 70 acres on its approved world heritage site.  Historic family estates now owned by the National Trust with magical gardens are always worth a visit.  Such as the Tropical plantations at Trengwainton, to the Orchards at Trerice.  Of course, last but not least to be mentioned our famous Eden Project which is probably our most visited gardens.

Why not go back in time and get lost in the past when you discover the beauty of Cotehele which is hidden on the banks of the river Tamar set in a beautiful part of East Cornwall.
