North Cornwall has always been known as the ‘trendy’ coast. This label has been fixed to this part of the Cornish coast for the last few years and is because of the quality and range of facilities on offer. Of course the scenery is just as beautiful both on the North and on the East coast. Beautiful sandy beaches with fabulous waves to surf exist all around the Cornish Coast, though it has to be said that the majority of these lie in the North of Cornwall. All around the coast there are rugged cliff walks with unique cliff top flowers that only grow in Cornwall’s micro climate.
Apart from the wonderful scenery, there are many other advantages to holidaying in North Cornwall. Cornish cuisine is definitely one of them. Divine restaurants that promise fantastic dining experiences exist in Newquay, Padstow, St Agnes and St Ives to name but a few. With a wealth of fresh seafood available on the doorstep, it’s not surprising that many of these restaurants are famous for their seafood dishes. Of course that’s not to say that Cornwall doesn’t produce other quality food as well. With the weather as it is and plenty of rich soil, Cornwall has an enviable reputation for producing some of the country’s finest lamb and beef and not forgetting the wonderful Cornish new potatoes which would rival any produced in the United Kingdom!
North Cornwall has many other attractions to offer the tourist to the county. If you are a keen culture vulture, you will discover that St Ives is a mecca for artists. The quality of the sunlight and the unrivalled views has led to St Ives becoming something of an artists haven. This reputation is enhanced by the fact that there is a Tate Gallery based at St Ives.
There is of course a wealth of other advantages to holidaying in North Cornwall. Enjoying the sights sounds and smells can be done from many different types of accommodation including hotels and self catering accommodation.
